Author Guidelines
Submission Requirements
TTARA encourages submissions from TCC students, faculty, and staff. In addition, TTARA welcomes submissions from external institutions, industry professionals, and subject matter experts. TTARA accepts research articles, informative essays, and creative works of art.
Before submission, please review the submission checklist and adhere to format, structure, and proper citation style according to the requirements of the type of work submitted. Once the work passes through the peer review process, the author may recieve a response of: “accepted”; “conditionally accepted with minor revisions required”; “conditionally accepted with major revisions required”; or “declined submission.”
Submission Checklist
Submitted articles that do not meet these requirements will be returned to the author.
- Limit of two works per author may be submitted during in any one academic year.
- Ensure original content. Information derived from outside sources must be properly cited.
- If applicable, provide evidence of approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethical Committee, or the equivalent as mandated by your institution. Proof of insitutional requirements for research must also be submitted with your work.
- Submissions must be subjected to numerous iterations of editing to submit a work nearly free from grammatical, spelling, and formatting errors.
- Article length must not exceeed 5,000 words.
- Upload the entire article without the title page. Only the title page is submitted separately. Author’s information and affiliation should not be included anywhere in the article as this will facilitate an anonymized peer review.
- Title page is submitted separately and should include the following applicable information:
- Author(s) full name(s) with academic and departmental titles (PhD, PhD student, college student, director, admin assistant, etc.)
- Name of institution and department or place of employment
- Contact information
- Full title of the work
- Word count
- Include information on any conflicts of interest
- Images submitted for review can include extensions of .pdf, .jpeg, or .png.
- Research articles should follow best practices for writing and structuring a journal article.
- Authors with questions on format specifications or structure should make an appointment with TCC’s Learning Commons or refer to your institution’s writing/research lab.
- Download a copy of the submissions checklist and include as a supplemental file with the title page.
