TTARA’s Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Research Misconduct

The Trailblazer Treatise for Applied Research and Art is committed to maintaining ethical standards in the administration of research. By means of the review process, the editorial board is dedicated to the prevention of research misconduct. Research misconduct is defined as including but not limited to plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification. Should the editorial board become aware of allegations of research misconduct concerning a published article in the journal, the editor-in-chief will follow COPE’s guidelines in response. Where a retraction is required, TTARA will follow COPE’s retraction guidelines. Editors reserve the right to retract an article without the acknowledgement or consent of the author(s).

Publication Ethics

The Trailblazer Treatise for Applied Research and Art adheres to the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly writing, per the Directory of Open Access Journals. TTARA requires research adheres to ethical practices, including but not limited to evidence of consent from participants, confidentiality/anonymity of participants, and evidence that no adverse effects were experienced by the participants involved. Should there be any indication that ethical practices have not been upheld, the article will be automatically rejected or retracted.

Responsibility of Reviewers

Reviewers adhere to the following stipulations:

  • Review each submission received with the intention to aid the journal and author to publish the highest quality of work possible.
  • Remove personal identification from all aspects of the review including the feedback form and comments within the article.
  • Adhere to deadlines established for the review process and remain in consistent and timely communication with the editorial board.
  • Maintain objectivity and confidentiality when reviewing an article or piece of work.
  • Remain impartial without conflict of interest within the review process.

Responsibility of Authors

Authors agree to the following stipulations:

  • Submit work that is original and devoid of plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification or fabrication.
  • Refrain from submitting the same article to alternate journals until the editorial board has reached their publication decision.
  • Provide only unpublished articles.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest during the initial submission for review.
  • Notify the journal of factual inconsistensies or inaccuracies immediately upon discovery to attempt to correct or retract the submission.
  • Grant the Trailblazer Treatise for Applied Research and Art the non-exclusive right to reproduce or distribute their submission in any medium for non-commercial, academic purposes.
  • Allow the Trailblazer Treatise of Applied Research and Art, without altering the content, to translate the submission to different mediums and formats and retain more than one copy for the purpose of backup, security, and preservation.

Conflict of Interest Policy

The Trailblazer Treatise for Applied Research and Art requires the authors reveal, during the initial submission process, financial interests or personal considerations that could potentially indicate bias in the research or results process. Examples of these conflicts can include:

  • Funding sources for the author(s) or associated department/organization
  • Personal relationships
  • Research funding or grants
  • Involvement of entities within the study to influence results, support academic competition, or influence financial gain

The conflict of interest statement must be clearly idenitified in the final version of the article before publication can occur. TTARA follows the COPE’s guidelines for handling conflicts of interests and competing interests.
